Apollo Hospitals Jabalpur is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our Ophthalmology team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing vision disorders, and recommending corrective lenses or other treatments. Key Responsibilities
Conduct Comprehensive Eye Examinations:
Perform detailed assessments of patients’ vision, including refraction tests, ocular health examinations, and screening for common eye conditions.
Diagnose Vision Disorders:
Identify refractive errors, amblyopia, strabismus, and other ocular conditions; interpret diagnostic test results and advise on corrective measures.
Prescribe Corrective Solutions:
Recommend appropriate corrective lenses, contact lenses, or low-vision aids based on individual patient needs and clinical findings.
Patient Counseling & Education:
Provide thorough guidance to patients regarding eye health, preventive care, and post-treatment maintenance, ensuring they understand treatment plans and lens care protocols.
Maintain Accurate Records:
Document patient histories, examination results, prescriptions, and follow-up schedules, ensuring compliance with hospital standards and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with Ophthalmologists:
Work closely with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to manage patient referrals, follow-up treatments, and specialized eye care interventions.
Stay Updated with Industry Advances:
Engage in continuous professional development and training on the latest optometric practices and technological innovations in ophthalmology.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institution.
- 1-5 years of experience in optometric examinations and patient care.
- Proficient in using vision testing equipment and diagnostic instruments.
- Strong understanding of ocular anatomy, optics, and refractive errors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accurate record-keeping and quality patient care.
